The DA 215 EFI UAV Engine is a 215 cc two-stroke engine that HFE International converts to electronic fuel injection for UAVs and unmanned aircraft. It delivers 14.9 hp (11.1 kW) continuous at 7,000 RPM and 20.0 Nm (14.7 lb-ft) of torque at 2,500 RPM, and weighs 10.9 lb (4.94 kg) with throttle body. It is the most powerful engine in the HFE DA EFI series.

Description
DA 215 EFI UAV Engine is fit with state of the art electronic fuel injection.
A special magnet configuration mounts in the prop hub and allows the prop to easily flip for no-fuss starting.
A single 3 cell Lipo battery of 1500mah or larger capacity, powers the ECM. At full throttle, the total power draw is only 12 watts (1 amp).
Alternator System Options
200W Power Management Unit
3 phase brushless alternator direct drives on the engine crankshaft. The stator mounts to the crankshaft casing. The rotor spins on the crankshaft.
The PMU provides three lines with a chosen voltage in the range: 12-15 VDC at 15A or 200W max and 4.8-7 VDC or 42W max.
Configurable with Lilon, LiPo, LifePO4, SLA, NiCad, NiMH, and Lead Acid Battery.

500W Starter Alternator
This 3 phase brushless alternator drives direct on the engine crankshaft. The stator mounts to the crankshaft casing. The rotor spins on the crankshaft.
The system can be paired with a 500 W Power Management Unit, with an integrated starter controller, allowing the engine to start remotely. The PMU provides three lines with a chosen voltage in the range: 24-28 VDC at 12.5A or 350W max, 12-15 VDC at 9A or 108W, and 4.8-8 VDC at 8A or 42W.
Configurable with Lilon, LiPo, LifePO4, SLA, NiCad, NiMH, and Lead Acid Battery.

The standard DA-215 is a carbureted engine built for radio-controlled aircraft. HFE International converts it to electronic fuel injection for unmanned aircraft, adding an engine control module, fuel pump and ignition tuned for UAV duty. The EFI system corrects for altitude and cylinder head temperature, protects against overheating, logs data on board and reports telemetry over CAN bus and RS-232. The specifications on this page are for the HFE EFI version.
Any grade of pump gasoline, mixed 40:1 with Red Line two-stroke oil. There is no heavy-fuel option for the DA 215 at this time. For JP-8 or Jet A operation, HFE International supplies AIE Wankel rotary engines designed for heavy fuel.
A 3-cell (3S) or larger LiPo battery. The ECM draws 1 A peak, about 12 W at full throttle, so each 1,000 mAh of battery capacity gives roughly one hour of running.

Yes, as an option. The Mil Spec EFI package uses Currawong premium EFI hardware, is rated from -10°F to 120°F (-23°C to 49°C) and runs 400 hours between overhauls.
